Principals at Real Brother Radio Network™ announced on Friday the company has secured $15,000 in funding to shore up infrastructure and ramp up marketing efforts.
The announcement was made after months of talks with the Small Business Administration through its satellite companies in conjunction with the Economic Development Council of Los Angeles County.
While the loan is a welcome first step the company is still $5,000 short of its $20,000 funding goal. Company Founder and CEO, Theron K. Cal says he’s confident that the financing gap can be filled.
“If we can’t raise five thousand dollars from our listeners then we don’t deserve to have a network. I’m confident we can get it done.” Cal said.
Hassan Nicholas, Senior Program Officer of Consumer Services for LA County was the liaison negotiating the terms of the loan.
“The biggest problem minority businesses have is start up capital, so we work with a number of banks to ready our partners to meet the requirements necessary to get the funds needed to succeed.” Nicholas said.
The Real Brother Radio Show-which anchors the RBRN-returns from hiatus after four days of no original shows while negotiations intensified.
“This loan is a God send for our fledgling Network but that doesn’t mean our work gets easier. We have a monthly payment that we have to service so we have to go to work more than ever.” Cal said.
