Erykah Badu is under fire from The Human Rights Foundation after she performed at the 46th birthday celebration of Swaziland’s King Mswati.

The “On & On” singer is being publicly condemned by activist who want to know why she would perform for the African monarch who many deem “corrupt.”

In a statement, the foundation wrote:

“She owes us all an explanation. The king is a kleptocrat who lives in the lap of obscene luxury while most of his countrymen toil in abject poverty for less than $2 a day. She claims to want to improve the lives of the disenfranchised and impoverished, but unapologetically does favours for a corrupt tyrant who jails those who challenge his ill-gotten wealth and power.”

Badu, who performed as a gift from celebrity jeweler Jacob “The Jeweler” Arabo, believes her character is being wrongfully scrutinized.

“Misinformation and slander on my character will pass over…been here before. But Africa continues to suffer. What next?” she tweeted. “If you’re interested in a serious issue in Swaziland, research the AIDS epidemic there.”

My take on it is Human Rights Groups that insult the humanity of Black artists are simply racists trying to advance & maintain the myth of White Supremacy.

No, I didn’t call what they did “racist” I called out racists for trying to advance the MYTH of White Supremacy by bossing around Black artists.

BADU AT ODDS WITH HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATION

There’s nothing hypocritical about Black artists or activists taking money from Donald Sterling and then bashing the hell outta’ him for his wrongs. Indeed the artist is not endorsing the King by accepting his invitation to speak out on what he’s doing wrong.

Who better to speak out on Human Rights violations than someone opposed to human rights violations?

So I come down on the side of Badu and defend her right to sing and perform while at the same time calling attention to Swaziland’s King Mswati-stop lying you had no idea who he was either-and his human rights violations if indeed there are any.

Those are my thoughts as usual I invite yours.
